Mimiko Advises New Council Boss to be People-friendly

Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State yesterday sworn in the new Chairman of the Interim Caretaker Committee for Akoko South West Local Government Area, Hon. Michael Arise, with a charge that he should carry the people along in the administration of the council.

The appointment of Arise was sequel to the demise of the former chairman of Opeyemi Adefarati, in a motor accident.

Arise, a former councillor in the local government was advised to eschew factional competition and promote unity among the people in order to sustain the prevailing peace in the area.

The governor expressed optimism in the capability of the council boss to provide purposeful leadership and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

“I want to implore you to do everything possible in order to bring your people together. You must shun factional competition among your people. I know you as an experienced politician who will add values to the lives of your people,” he said.

The new council boss, in his remarks, promised not to disappoint the governor and the entire people of the Local Government Area.

He also assured that he would make self sacrifice to transform the nooks and crannies of Akoko South West local government area.
