Prince Tony Momoh

Contrary to impressions given by opposition party leaders that all is well with plans for the merger, feelers emanating from one of the three parties involved in the talks, CPC indicate that the leadership tussle may stall any early agreement on the merger.
The intriguing aspect of the crisis in CPC is that the group led by the enstranged pioneer National Chairman, Senator Rufai Hanga has chosen to embark on a parallel negotiation for merger with the ACN and ANPP.
The group had hitherto opposed the participation in the merger talks on account of its legal action to unseat the Prince Tony Momoh-National Executive.
There will be a ruling on the court case at the Abuja High Court on February 28 to decide which of the two leaderships can fly the party's flag.
