Alhaji Bamanga Tukur

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Wednesday gave green light to the merger of opposition parties, stating that they are within the 90 days stipulation by the Electoral Act (2010) as amended.
This came as the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur boasted that the PDP remains the party to be beaten by the opposition political parties seeking mergers.
When THISDAY contacted the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Kayode Idowu to know whether the political parties seeking mergers have met the conditions for merging, he referred our report to section 84 of the Electoral Act (2010 as amended).
