Nigerian boxers

President of the Nigeria Boxing Federation, Major General Minima has charged Nigerian boxers to do well at the All Africa Games which begins this week in Maputo, Mozambique.
Minima made the charge in Benin City, the Edo State capital when he visited the athletes at their All Africa Games camp to wish them well ahead of the big task in Maputo.
The President, who also made personal donations to motivate the boxers in camp, equally reminded the boxers of the need to be good ambassadors in Maputo.
Minima, who is the General Officer Commanding the 81 Mechanized Division of the Nigerian Army, commended the National Sports Commission for adequately preparing Nigerian athletes for the Games and pleaded with the athletes to reciprocate the gesture by winning laurels for the country.
“Nothing short of medals will be tolerated since to whom much is given much is equally expected and from what have seen of the boxers, they are physically and mentally ready to face the rest of the continent during the games,” he commented.
Minima insists that if our athletes can repeat the same form they displayed against the Ghanaian boxing team at the two nation pre-All Africa Games international boxing tournament held in Benin City recently, nothing will stop them from winning medals at the Mozambique Games.
