Gov. Rauf Aregbesola
Yinka Kolawole in Osogbo
Osun State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has faulted the state governor Rauf Aregbesola over his alleged moves to incapacitate all the local governments in the state to the detriment of the people of Osun State.
Speaking in an interview with THISDAY after the party’s mega meeting in Osogbo, the state capital, chairman of the caretaker committee of the party, Chief Daniel Bankola Afilaka, also condemned the idea that home-grown talents are not been courted for government offices, saying it appeared that Lagos-based politicians are more favoured for government patronage.
The party leader observed that for Aregbesola to have halted development in all the local councils in the state, his administration has lost focus and as such needs to be replaced with a people-oriented Labour Party government as its currently being enjoyed in Ondo State.
Afilaka, who equally condemned the current government’s approach to governance said Labour Party would seek to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state via a viable partnership between the people and its chosen government.
The party also frowned at the government’s current approach of courting unnecessary controversies with various uncultured statements attributed to Aregbesola in various form.
