One of the leading private universities in the country, Leads University and New Horizons, an Information Technology and E-business training organisation have taken steps to position students from the university with IT and e-business certifications.

For the 2012/2013 academic session, all Leads University students will undergo training in applicable practical-based international certifications, which have been carefully allotted and integrated into their respective programmes.

The certifications will entrench the schools at the front row of digitalised institutions of the world, and make the graduates employable to help beat the endemic graduates’ unemployment in the country.

The Registrar, Leads University, Mrs. Ayeni, said the school is interested in producing all-round competent graduates that are academically sound and professionally vast as well.

Ayeni stated that the renewed partnership with New Horizons will enhance the university’s penchant for grooming complete graduates who will be internationally oriented, stand tall and compete favourably with their counterparts from anywhere in the world.

Also speaking, the University’s Public Relations Director, Mr. Owolabi, said “With the global IT and E-Business Skills, our University graduates will largely be able to escape the pervasive Graduates Unemployment syndrome in Nigeria.

“Statistics these days show that 70 per cent of available jobs are IT-E Business Jobs or IT- E Business related openings hence greater opportunities to any IT –E Business Certified graduates.”

On his part, the Managing Director of New Horizons, Mr. Tim Akano, stated that the 21st century reality demands that all graduates must be well grounded and proficient in practical IT and E-Business skills which are in high demand globally.

He said, “Lead City University Graduates will always be the toast of Employers as well as being equipped to be self-employed as IT & E Biz Consultants with the aid of the International Certifications.

Also, the General Manager New Horizons’ Education Business, Mr. Bolaji Olaoye, added that some of the high-end Courses and Technologies to be taught include Skills in Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, Comptia, EC Council Information Security and E-Business, Adobe Web/Multimedia, etc.
