Vice-Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter Governmental Affairs, Senator Babajide Omoworare, has tasked political officer holders on good governance and the nation democracy to prevent military overthrow.

Omoworare, in a lecture titled ‘The Military and Democracy in Nigeria, any Synergy?’ as part of the activities lined up for the Oyo State correspondents’ chapel press week, remarked that good governance in terms of transparency, accountability, productivity and delivery of electoral promises and covenants among others things is required  to instill confidence in the citizenry.

The lawmaker representing Osun East Senatorial district said: ‘’The democratic institutions and the political class must do all the necessary things, concentrate on good governance and strengthening our democracy to keep illegitimacy and forceful overthrow of government at bay.”
