Lawmaker Gives Free NECO Forms, Cash to Indigent Students

A member of Oyo State House of Assembly, Sikiru Akin Alli, has presented cash awards, free NECO registration forms to some outstanding indigent students in his Ibadan South-east constituency.


The lawmaker also presented free exercise books to all participants of the extra mural class, which he organised as part of his educational support programme. He described the gesture as a tip of the iceberg, as he assured students and members of the constituency of more dividends of democracy.


Alli expressed concern over the poor performance of secondary school students in external examinations, this he said moved him to organise the extra-mural classes to augment teachers’ efforts.


He said the responsibility of sustaining quality education should not be left in the hands of government alone and urged other relevant stakeholders to support the government to develop the standard of education in the state and the country.


He also advised the students to take their studies serious so as to achieve their dreams.
Alli also donated seven boreholes to the communities, which he said would ease the hardship occasioned by the scarcity of water in the areas.
