Dr. Williams Kumuyi
General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), Pastor William F. Kumuyi, has urged Nigerians to repose absolute trust in God as a way of overcoming grave security challenges currently confronting the country.
Kumuyi, who gave the advice at the just concluded retreat of the church, at Km 42 along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, stressed the need for Christians to abide in God and His commandments at all times.
The cleric, dwelt incisively on a subject titled ‘Believers’ Identification with Christ’, established from various biblical references that trusting God absolutely “is the recipe for overcoming security-related challenges,” which he said, had the capacity “to boggle the mind of the feeble-mind” in all parts of the country.
He added that the possession of an unflagging and abiding relationship in God “is sure to triumph over every dire and intriguing problem,” therefore urging several thousands of attendees at the conference not to run away from where God “has placed them, rather focus on God and God will also focus on you in return.”
According to him, “when you continuously abiding in Christ, neither Satan nor his angels can ever touch you for the promises of God affirm wholesome deliverances for all abiding believers. Faith therefore is the key ingredient to walking successfully with God and living a life pleasing unto God who created us for His purposes.
The general superintendent also urged the Nigerians to strive to appropriate the fullness of God, which he said He had made available through Jesus Christ, describing it as an antidote to the multifarious challenges facing mankind.
He explained that Christ had transferred His righteousness “to every believer, and that the moment one believes, Christ’s righteousness is imputed into one. This, then, is the gateway to receiving the fullness of blessings, which span the spiritual, physical and material realms.”
He, therefore, urged all Nigerians to pattern their lives after Christ, saying as Christ “is a Conqueror and Overcomer, so must we be in the world. As children of God, everything that Christ is ours including his victory, his wealth, his prosperity, his health, his power and his authority among others.”
He also addressed the retreat attendees in all the 774 local government areas across the country and in Europe, America, Asia, Africa and other parts of the world simultaneously under a general theme: “All Round Security in Christ”.
