Governor Idris Wada

As the opposition to Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State style of governance intensifies within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the Elders Forum of the party in the state has rejected the outcome of what it tagged the undemocratic party congresses conducted in the state a fortnight ago
The Elders Forum equally described the exercise as a charade, null and void.
The group, speaking under the auspices of Kogi Elders Forum, condemned what it described as the total lack of transparency in the entire place, describing the exercise as a show of shame.
‘’We foresaw this in our letters to the President and the National Chairman a week before the so called party congresses. We have been vindicated,” the group said weekend in a statement released in Abuja.
The statement was signed jointly by Senator Alex Kadiri, Senator Mohammed Ohiare, Chief Clarence Olafemi, Salihu Atawodi, and Dr. Adinoyi Ojo Onukaba on behalf of the forum and made available to THISDAY.
According to the Elders Forum , “The so-called congresses were held in hotel rooms and in private homes. Never mind that Gov. Idris Wada and his cronies staged a show congress strictly for the television and to hoodwink the world; names had already been compiled and adopted as ward and local council of the party.”
The forum called on the national headquarters of the party to cancel what it described as the fraud-ridden congresses and organise fresh ones to be supervised by the national headquarters.
