Two gunmen were on Thursday shot dead by the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Kano while five others were arrested when the suspected gunmen attacked a JTF check point.

The incident happened around 3pm at a JTF check point in Mariri area along Wudil Road, Kano but the security officials manning the check point were able to repel the attack.

Eyewitness revealed that during the shoot-out between the gunmen and the JTF, two passers-byes, a man and a woman, were said to have been hit by stray bullets after being caught in the cross-fire.
