A flyover bridge is to be constructed by Kano State Government in the Kano Central Business District, from Lagos Street – Murtala Muhammad Way – Wapa, Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has disclosed.

Speaking during a recent meeting with party delegates, popularly known as ‘Yan Biyar’ from the 44 local government areas of the state, the Governor explained that the project is one of the biggest to be executed on the 2013 fiscal year.
Kwankwaso also told the gathering that the government would set up a new transport company to be tagged ‘Amana Luxury’, under which 500 new cars would be given to drivers as part of efforts to improve public transportation in the state.

He also announced plans to start a mobile clinic programme that would visit markets and other strategic places regularly as part of a grand design to improve the wellbeing of the citizenry, especially the poor, explaining that the government has already procured the first batch ambulances for the scheme.
Moreover, Kwankwaso stated that the government would soon construct two public conveniences in two selected markets in all the 44 local government areas of the state beside the construction of 27 new courts across the state. He stated that the government was constructing more classrooms and renovating existing ones in all public schools in Kano.
The governor dwelt on several aspects of development of the state and the country at large, appealing to Federal legislators from Kano to play a more proactive role and ensure that Kano is not shortchanged in the on-going constitution
