Kano: Seven Confirmed Dead in BUK Attacks, Explosion

The Public Relations Officer of the Bayero University, Kano (BUK), which was jolted by a powerful explosion Sunday morning, Alhaji Mustpha Zahara has said seven people died in the incident.

Although Alhaji did not provide details, it was learnt that as many as three bombs went off in the Old Campus site of the university in the vicinity of the campus Christian students hold their services on Sundays.

Thisday further learnt that some of the assailants had positioned themselves outside the theatre being used for worship and started to shoot at the worshipers as they tried to flee from the building.

The attack is coming barely 48 hours after an explosion hit the Senate building of the Gombe State University and three days after bombers attacked Thisday offices in Abuja and Kaduna, claiming nine lives.
