The Nigeria Police headquarters in Kano bombed by Boko Haram last Friday
The Police Command in Kano has said that a total of 186 people died during last Friday’s multiple bomb attacks on the city by the Boko Haram group.
According to the figures the police suffered the largest single loss of uniformed officers with a total of 29 policemen killed. The State Security Service lost three officers while Immigration lost two and Customs one.
As expected civilians suffered the heaviest casualties with 150 dead according to the police figures.
The police statement has laid to rest widely brandished casualty figures of over 200 dead during the bombardment, which was targeted at mainly police formations across the city.
