Suspected armed robbers on Friday struck at a popular cattle market in Wudil, a distance of about 50 kilometers away from Kano metropolis, killing one police officer and a vigilante group member.

Spokesman of the Police in the state, ASP. Musa Magaji Majia, who confirmed the incident, said the men lost their lives during a gun duel with the armed robbers.

Eyewitness, Iliya Mudi told THISDAY on phone that the men of underworld, numbering 15, raided the market immediately after the Jumat prayers.
