The Kaduna State Government is to adopt special security strategies to flush out criminals who have been terrorising people in Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of the state.

The governor of the state, Mr. Patrick Yakowa, stated this Monday when he visited victims and families of 24 people that were killed on Sunday in Dogon-Dawa village by armed bandits, said to be on a revenge mission.

The governor who was accompanied to the village by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Mechanised Division, the Director of State Security Services (SSS) in the state and the state Commissioner of Police, said a special security meeting would be convened to map out strategies to flush out the bandits.

While condoling with those who lost their loved ones in the incident as well as those who sustained  injuries, the governor said the state government would pay the medical bills of all those who were injured in the unfortunate incident.

Yakowa  who was in Abuja on his way out of the country was said to have immediately cancelled his trip and proceeded straight to Dogon-Dawa village where he was received by the emir of Birnin- Gwari, Alhaji Zubairu Jibril Maigwari II.

The governor who was almost in tears, told the people of the area that the state government will do all within its power to fish out those who carried out the dastardly act.

He also said the state will collaborate with the agencies in states like Niger, Zamfara, Kebbi and Katsina which are bordering Birnin-Gwari in order to checkmate the activities of criminals.

Speaking earlier, the emir who received the governor and his entourage at the residence of the deceased leader of the Vigilante group in the village, Makama Ahmad Aliyu, who was killed along with his two children, said the criminals were on a revenge mission.

The emir further told the governor that information available to him indicated that the criminals were driven out of Zamfara State and decided to make Birnin Gwari Local Government their new base.

He said with proper collaboration between the people of the area and the security agencies, the criminals would be rounded up and appealed  for collaboration between the security agencies and the community to flush out the bandits.
