Jubilation, As INEC Declares Pwajok Winner of Plateau By-Election

The declaration of the Gyang Pwajok as the winner of the Plateau North by-election held on Saturday and Senator-elect to represent the zone was Sunday greeted with laud jubilations across the city of Jos.

Declaring the results, the Returning Officer, Professor Fatimah Sawa, said having scored the highest votes, the PDP candidate, Mr. Gyang Nyam Pwajok is declared winner and returned elected.

The PDP candidate, Pwajok polled 195,349 votes to floor other contestants who polled the following votes;
Colonel John Dungs (rtd) of Democratic Peoples Party (DPP)= 38,847; Mr. Chris Giwa  of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) = 36,245; Dr Danladi Atu of All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) = 30,132; Barrister Jonathan Yusufu Pam of Action Congress of Nigeria  (ACN) = 27,609; Hon. Dah Adeh Lumumba of Labour Party (LP) =25,527
