President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of former presidential spokesman, Dr. Doyin Okupe, as his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, conveyed the news of the appointment to Okupe in a letter dated July 24.
Okupe, a former Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, told THISDAY yesterday that he had since assumed duty at the State House.
He was also appointed a member of the publicity committee of the Goodluck Jonathan’s Presidential campaign council 2011.
Before then, Okupe had contested for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket in Ogun State but lost to Gbenga Daniel.
He was also appointed one of the spokesmen of the President’s campaign organisation during the 2011 presidential primaries.
