Plateau State government has lifted the curfew imposed on the state in the wake of the recent crisis that rocked it and wished Muslim Umma well during the Ramadan fast.

In a statement by the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr. Yiljap Abraham, the state government said “following a careful review of the security situation in Plateau State, and after due consultation wt the State security council, the Governor of Plateau State, Dr Jonah Jang has approved the complete lifting of the curfew earlier imposed on Jos North, Jos South, Riyom and Barkin Ladi LGAs with immediate effect.

The statement added, “By this action, Government expects that citizens will use this period to work harder towards a safer and more peaceful Plateau.

They should reciprocate this gesture by avoiding any action that will lead to breakdown of law and order and co-operate fully with the security agencies.

All citizens are enjoined to use this opportunity to pray fervently for the general well being of the state. A return to a no-curfew therefore calls for extra vigilance by every citizen.

Meanwhile, the Special Task Force (STF) in the state, in a separate statement has also wished the Muslims in the State a happy Ramadan month, urging them to embrace peace and pray for the restoration of full peace in the state.
