Managing Director of Bristow Helicopters Nigeria Ltd, Captain Akin Oni, has said the greatest challenge facing helicopter companies that provide movement service to oil and gas operations in the Niger Delta is insecurity.

“The oil and gas industry and the way we impact on them is more on the transportation side. The challenges we faced a few years ago was crisis in the Niger Delta. Thankfully there is major progress there. So that had removed a lot of weight. The biggest challenge then was security and today it remains security. There are some places that we cannot go into, that we cannot fly into; even on the roads in Port Harcourt, Warri, we are restricted on where we can go and what we can do. So security remains a big expense for us in terms of how we move our people around and our assets,” Oni said.
