IBB Captain's Cup: Azogu's Tenure Ends on High

The one-year tenure of the IBB Club's executive committee led by Anthony Azogu ended Saturday with the Captain's Cup tournament.

The occasion which was characterized by a series of weeklong activities came to a climax with a golf tournament and gala night Saturday.

All the players were regaled in the blazing red colour of Airtel, the tournament's major sponsor.

The chairman tournament organising committee, Hon
Tergba Tsengu said that tournament was a success as the course was put in good condition for the players and officials.

But the high point for the executive committee was the legacy in form of projects which will become a reference point for the in coming committee.

Some of the projects it embarked on are, expansion and furnishing of the locker- room, renovation of the upper terrace, provision of equipment room, commissioning of two concrete bridges on the golf course and the dredging of the waterway to protect the course from flooding.

The committee similarly made donation to charity homes.
But Saturday's strokeplay competition was preceded by caddies, staff and professional tournaments.

Edet Imo finished at 2 under par 70 to win the closed professional event.

Three players- Ayuba Musa, Oche Odoh and Mohammed Liman - finished in tied for second position at even par 72, while Markus Elisha and Ibrahim Schokai shared fifth place at one over par 73.
