The National Population Commission (NPC) has refuted media reports on an issuance of a warrant of arrest for its Chairman, Chief Festus Odimegwu over his alleged refusal to respond to summons by the House of Representatives  on allegations of violations of the Federal Character principle in the commission's current recruitment exercise.

The NPC's Chairperson, Public Affairs Committee, Mrs. Seyi Aderinokun - Olusanya in a statement issued in Abuja said records available to the commission showed no warrant of arrest was issued on Odimegwu.

The statement was however silent on the reason or reasons as to why the Chairman has not appeared before the House even though the House had insisted that he has been invited and has not appeared before it.

Aderinokun - Olusanya added that the Commission and it's management team hold the House in high esteem,  noting that oversight functions and interventions of the members of the parliament have made the execution of the commission's mandate easier.
