House of Representatives members from Abia State Monay decried the non-implementation of constituency projects estimated at over N2 billion across their various constituencies.

Spokesman of the eight-member Abia caucus, Hon Chinenye Ike, expressed dismay at the situation during an oversight assessment of the projects captured in the 2012 budget.

He said the non-implementation of the constituency projects meant that the people they represent would be denied the benefits of the budget.

“My investigations carried out in the constituencies reveal that as at the end of September 2012, not a single contract for these projects has been awarded,” he lamented.
