Suspected gunmen on motorcycles shot dead three persons at Kwanar Freedom Radio in Sharada area in Kano metropolis late Thursday evening.
The gunmen arrived at the junction while people were trading and begin shooting, leaving three dead.
Police spokesman in the state, Rilwanu Mohammed (DSP) confirmed the attack saying: "Yes there was attack at Kwanar Freedom Radio, but only two persons were shot dead and while a police corporal was injured during the attack."
He said the injured policeman has been taken to hospital, adding that "the injured police corporal is responding to treatment".
Our correspondent, who passed through the area, learnt that security personnel have been drafted to the area, while the street was completely devoid of people.
It was also gathered that the gunmen fled the scene of the attack immediately after the shooting.
Our correspondent also saw three armoured vehicles of the security agents driving to the scene of the attack.
THISDAY in Kano learnt that the attack came barely hours after the state government had lifted the restriction of motorcycles hours of movement from 6pm due to the commencement of the ramadan.
