Governor  Idris Wada

A group, Kogi State Coalition For Good Governance (KCFGG), has challenged the state governor, Idris Wada to deliver the much needed democracy dividends to the people of the state rather than plunging the state into abject penury.

It equally enjoined the governor to lend a listening ears to some elders of the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who tasked him on his administration’s below par performance  and total disregard for the rule of law in the management of Kogi State.

In a statement jointly issued by KCFGG’s Chairman, Sani Sunday Ameh and its Secretary, Momoh Jimoh Aliyu noted that Wada should have taken the advice given to him by Kogi Elders Forum for the sake of the development of the state rather than taking a swipe at them.

‘’Not too long ago, the state governor issued a directive that “Hence forth, Kogi State Local Government workers should be paid full salaries”. But the question is, why should the governor wait to be confronted by the PDP Elders Forum before the local government and state workers are being paid their salaries? And what happened to the accumulated salaries that are yet to be paid? The group queried.

‘’Though, the State Government labeled the Elders with low credibility is it now a coincidence that over five thousand teachers took to the street on Friday, 4h Dec 2012 demanding not payment of salaries and allowances

‘’And to show how unprepared  Governor .Wada is, in the management of the state, he declared that it was only two days ago that he got to know that the teachers were not paid their salaries and allowances despite several communication between the teachers and government,” KFGG averred.

‘’Using tax payer’s money to sponsor media statements against well respected Elders in the State will only expose him the more. Governor Wada should go and face the challenge put before him by the Elders of his party by doing what is right to bring the much needed democracy dividends to our people. After all they are all his seniors in the party. that is if he is a party member in the first place’’ KCFGG averred.
