Tension enveloped Gombe metropolis Friday evening after unknown gunmen on a motorbike stormed Bagadaza area of the metropolis and rained bullets on some people playing cards killing five on the spot while over seven others were seriously wounded.

According to a resident of the area, Bulus Chiroma, the gunmen attacked the area around 4:00 pm and killed the card players while a policeman attached to Government House, Gombe was injured. He said that the gunmen escaped immediately on their motorbike after the attack.

Chiroma told our correspondent that his daughter, who operates a shop at the scene of the incident, ran and entered her house when she heard gunshots but on returning to the shop, she came out to see dead bodies lying on the street.
