Goldlink Insurance Settles N920m Claims

Goldlink Insurance Plc has stated that it paid claims worth N929 million in the first half of 2012, which ended on June 30.

The Managing Director of the company, Mr. Femi Okunniyi disclosed this recently when his firm hosted the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) in a programme, tagged “Brokers’ Evening” in Lagos.

According to him, the composite insurer paid N209 million to unfortunate motor insurance policy holders while N258.30 million was paid to fire victims.

Okunniyi further stated that another N80.30 million was paid with respect to the firm’s general accident portfolio while N30 million was paid to engineering insurance clients.

He also confirmed that the life assurance subsidiary of the company paid claims totaling N316.90 million to various life assureds during the period under review.

The managing director said that his company would remain committed to claims settlement since “claim settlement remains the acid test of insurance.”

Okunniyi also said that his firm had a competitive edge over its peers in the areas of qualified manpower, information technology platform, and good corporate governance culture, among others.

Speaking at the occasion, the President of NCRIB, Mrs. Laide Osijo restated the commitment of  the insurance broking community to professionalism and ethical practice.

She expressed gratitude to the company for its contributions towards the construction of a befitting secretariat for the council.
