Fresh tension is mounting in Kaduna following rumours of massive attack on churches in the city on Sunday.
Text message to this effect were being widely circulated Saturday among christians in the metropolis.
According to the message, churches in the city centre and the Southern part of the metropolis have been marked for attack by suicide bombers.
The text reads: "We received Security Alert from the Coordinator of Operation Yaki that some churches in Kaduna metropolis, Barnawa, Sabon Tasha and Gonin Gora are likely to be attacked tomorrow 24th by gunmen disguised as women using Improvised Explosive Devices IED) and AK47assault and riding on motorbikes."
Efforts to reach the coordinator of the Operation Yaki Col. Maman Dangana (rtd)to react on the text message was abortive as his phone was switched off.
Security sources however confirmed that a there are reports that some people were planning to caused cause concussion in the state in spite of efforts being made to restore peace
Elsewhere in the city there is fear and apprehension among the people.
A security source who pleaded anonymity confided that there were security reports to that effect but wondered how it became public.
He however assured that adequate security measures have been adopted to ensure the safety of lives and property.
