Suspect: We got N13m as ransom

Four persons have been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command for the kidnap and abduction of Titilayo, the wife of the former military governor of the defunct Western Region, General Oluwole Rotimi.
The leader of the gang however confessed that they received N13 million as ransom from the N40 million they demanded from the family of the retired military officer.
The money, he disclosed was delivered to the gang at J4, a transit settlement in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Police chief, Mbu John Mbu, who dropped the hint, added that the command has widened its dragnet to arrest other suspects.
Titilayo was abducted on December 10, last year within the premises of her Oak company along Alakia area of Ibadan in the presence of her driver.
She was released 10 days after at Ijebu Ode by her abductors.
She was later flown abroad for medical check up.
The police chief however stated that all her employees and other people arrested in connection with the kidnap saga had been released.
He revealed that one of the suspects is a former employer of the wife of the former military governor, promising that they will soon be charged to court.
Mbu added that the kidnap suspects were arrested in a location in Ogun State and maintained that the command will ensure that such incident never happened in the state again.
Similarly, the police chief disclosed that a suspect who was attempting to smuggle a stolen tanker was arrested around Jobele in Afijio Local Government Area of the state.
He stated that the tanker was robbed at gunpoint on its way to Lagos, pointing out that the suspect is helping the command to arrest other suspects who fled on sighting the police.
