In line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, First Bank of Nigeria Plc has collaborated with the Nigerian Leadership Initiative (NLI) on a youth empowerment programme.

Speaking during an event by NLI held in Lagos, the Executive Director, Corporate Banking, Mr. Kehinde Lawanson, said the commercial bank had agreed to always sponsor any NLI activities on youth empowerment in the country.

He explained the partnership was also focused on building capacity in leadership as well as to bridge the knowledge gap between the NLI fellows and associates.

Lawanson also pointed out that the bank’s contribution to leadership and public administration also extended to the United Kingdom.
“Our leadership journey is not a sprint but a marathon. We expect this to endure. That is why everywhere there is a discourse or lecture on leadership, First Bankers are always attracted,” he said.

He also assured that First Bank would continue to play a leading role in supporting the nation’s economic development.

“Over the last three years, dozens of grassroots and strategic partners were enlisted to reach Nigerian public with its core values and national reorientation messages,” Lawanson said.
