WSP FMC Nigeria LTD has clinched the 2012 African Governance and Corporate Leadership Award for Best Facility Management Company.

The Award ceremony, held in Nigeria in August was hosted by the Institute for Government Research and Leadership Technology to honour various Nigerian entities that showed exceptional leadership within their chosen sectors. The Chief Executive Officer, WSP FM Nigeria, Mko Balogun said, “receiving this award is a clear indication that we are on the right track towards achieving the company’s vision of compelling WSP FMC to greater heights.”

Mko added, “This is huge milestone for us as this award is the first of its kind in Nigeria.  We would like to dedicate it to all our stakeholders and all FM professionals in Africa.”

Some of the criteria and performance indicators used to select the winners include: Expertise in the provision of first rate Facility Management; Outstanding in the provision of first class service delivery; Good in handling specialised contract in Facility Management for turn-key projects; Excellent in brand integrity, reputation and customer service; Service high quality, track record and value creation; Corporate general performance and operational excellence; Compliance with professional codes and ethical standards; and Compliance  with government regulatory laws and guidelines.

Companies like First Bank, African ReInsurance and EkoCorp also received awards in their respective categories. The guests, entertained by the National Troupe of Nigeria were treated to Africa’s finest cuisine, music and dance at the prestigious Nicon Luxury in Abuja.
