Security operatives in the country have been directed by President Goodluck Jonathan to quickly find the perpetrators of Monday gruesome murder of 46 students of Federal Polythecnic, Mubi, Adamawa State University, the School of Health Technology, Mubi and the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID).
According to the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, President Jonathan described the killings as tragic, sad, barbaric and shocking.
"The President has directed securuty agencies to investigate the matter and get to the root because this kind of incidence, where people are called out and shot is really shocking."
Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members on Independence Day attacked three higher institutions killing 43 students and injuring many others.
While the Federal Polythechnic, Mubi lost 26 students, 14 were killed at the other two higher institutions.
The Minister of Education, Professor Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa'i, briefed the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on the killings which elicited condemnation from all the members of the policy making and implementation body.
