Mr. Edem Duke

The Federal Government is to train 5,000 youths in various sectors of the economy in its bid to tackle the menace of unemployment which has been blamed for the high level of insecurity and violence in the country.

Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Mr. Edem Duke disclosed this Friday at a press briefing to mark the 2012 International Peace Day in Abuja.

The Minister who noted that peace is a major prerequisite for any sustainable development lamented that the successes achieved by the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan could not impact on the lives of the masses because of insecurity, insurrection and insurgency arising from the actions of aggrieved individuals and groups in the country.
