Federal Express, parent company of Red Star Express Plc, has once again been named in the Fortune magazine’s list of the ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ in the United States. The world’s largest transport company was named by Fortune partners after extensive employee survey was carried out by Great Place to Work Institute.
Chairman and CEO of FedEx Corp., Frederick Smith, in his response said “this recognition is made possible by the spirit and dedication of FedEx’s more than 300,000 hard-working team members around the world. We are pleased to be recognised by Fortune magazine as an employer of choice, and all of us are committed to continuing our history of service to our customers and our communities.”
FedEx has made the prestigious list 11 of the past 14 years and was named to the Best Companies to Work For Hall of Fame in 2005. The company also has been consistently ranked in Fortune’s Global Most Admired Companies and America’s Most Admired Companies lists since 2002 and 2001, respectively.
The Managing Director of Red Star Express, Mr. Sule Bichi, equally expressed satisfaction at the announcement. According to him, “FedEx has a very strong pedigree in the industry globally and it is not surprising that it could gain such recognition. We are always excited of fact that we have such huge heritage as the Nigerian licensee of the company.
