Media Officer of Heartland FC of Owerri, Cajetan Nkwopara, on Monday
said the team was ready to take on Akwa United FC of Uyo in the
quarter-finals of the Federation Cup.
Nkwopara believes that the Owerri-based outfit is banking on winning
the trophy for the third time in a row to set a record.
Heartland progressed to the round of eight, after defeating Sharks FC
of Port Harcourt 5-4 on penalties.
Prior to the shootout the two teams had battled to a 1-1 draw in

back victorious a third time,’’ he said.
It would be recalled that Heartland had won the Federation Cup twice
in rapid succession (2011 and 2012), and are currently poised to win
it for a third time.

Heartland would lock horns with the Uyo Glo Premier League side on
July 31 in Kaduna, to decide on the semi-finals ticket.
