FCTA Takes Health Insurance Scheme to 300 Communities

Concerned over the wide disparities in health and provision of health services between FCT’s rural and urban areas, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Wednesday began the implementation of Community Based Health Insurance Scheme in 300 communities in the territory.

The Minister of State, FCT, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide said the top-level advocacy on the community-based health insurance scheme; was to curb the issue of low purchasing power among rural households because of the out-of-pocket option to health-care financing in FCT, as in other parts of the country.
