The factional group of Ohaneze Ndigbo that emerged as a result of crisis in the conduct of the association's 2013 elections has suspended a parallel election it planned to hold today in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state. The embattled former secretary of Ohaneze Ndigbo 2013 electoral committee, Prince Richard Ozobu told newsmen that his group decided to suspend the election to show obedience to rule of law.

He however said that the election would be conducted after vacating the Enugu high court order that issued injunction restraining their faction of Ohaneze from conducting another national election of officers apart from the one conducted on January 12 2013. A High Court sitting in Enugu had on Thursday issued an interim injunction restraining Ozobu from conducting any further election to elect officers of the Ohaneze Ndigbo.
