Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany on Tuesday won his appeal against the sending off at Arsenal on Sunday. The red card has been rescinded by the Football Association.
An official statement from the FA on Tuesday read:
“An Independent Regulatory Commission has today upheld a claim of wrongful dismissal regarding Manchester City’s Vincent Kompany.
“The player was dismissed for serious foul play during his side’s match against Arsenal on Sunday 13 January 2013.
“As a result, Kompany’s three-match suspension has been withdrawn with immediate effect.”
Kompany was dismissed in the 77th minute of the 2-0 win over Arsenal for a tackle on Jack Wilshere, notes futaa.com.
The appeal victory means the defender will be available for the Blues’ league match against Fulham on Saturday.
