Luis Suarez scored a controversial goal for Liverpool

Luis Suarez scored a controversial goal as Liverpool defeated valiant non-league Mansfield to reach the FA Cup fourth-round.

Mansfield were 1-0 down but had the upper hand in the second half before substitute Suarez scored, with the ball striking his hand before going in, reports the BBC.

New signing Daniel Sturridge grabbed the opener on his debut when he converted Jonjo Shelvey's pass.

Matt Green scored late on for the Stags but they could not find an equaliser.
