Etisalat Targets More Customers with Promo

Etisalat, the fourth entrant into the Nigerian telecoms space on Tuesday this week, introduced its latest innovative promo called the  ‘9ja Free Credit Re-launch’.

The telecoms company said it would use the promo to increase its subscriber base from the current 14 million to 15 million by the end of the year, and that it would be offering free monthly credit bonus of over N1 billion to its new and existing customers through the promo.

Announcing the  ‘9ja Free Credit Re-launch’ at a press conference in Lagos, Director, Products and Services for Etisalat, Mr. Lucas Dada,  said all new subscribers on the network would get 50 per cent free credit for all recharge in one month, while existing subscribers would get 20 per cent free credit for all recharge in one month.

 Apart from the free monthly credit bonus, every subscriber gets instant 10 per cent bonus when they recharge with N200 or more. He said the bonus credit would not be restricted to calling Etisalat lines only, but that customers could use it to call any network of choice.  

First launched in June 2011, 9ja Free Credit promo seeks to reward loyal customers on the Etisalat network and provide them with opportunities to make more calls to any network of choice.

The first launch, according to Dada, grew the subscriber base from 6.8 million to 10.5 million in just few months. He  noted that expectations  are high  the re-launch would further grow its subscriber number from 14 million to over 15 million in the next three months.

Allaying fears of possible network collapse as a result of the expected surge in subscriber numbers on the Etisalat network due to the promo, Director, Marketing Segments and Strategy,  Mr. Oluwole Rawa, said the issue of capacity expansion had been taken care of ever before the promo was concluded.

 “Quality of service will not be an issue for us as a result of the promo, because we have a rollout plan that could accommodate more subscribers as long as the promo lasts without experiencing network collapse,” Rawa said.   

Counting on its earlier fulfilled promises on various promo, Rawa said Etisalat had always kept to its promise on all past promos and called on new and existing subscribers to believe in the Etisalat dream. He encouraged intending subscribers to come on board the Etisalat network, and enjoy the benefits of its subscribers, while thanking existing subscribers for their continued patronage of the brand.
