Chelsea beat United the last time they met in the FA Cup replay

Another intriguing Premier League fixture is on the cards Sunday as Manchester United hosts Chelsea in the stand out tie of the weekend.

The game is coming on the heels of last week’s cracker at the Emirates between Arsenal and Manchester United which turned out to be quite a watch considering that the Red Devils had already been crowned champions six days earlier.

In a game reminiscent of previous showdowns between the two, the match was full of passion, incidents and ended with points shared and Arsenal’s former great, Robin van Persie silencing the boo boys by scoring United’s equaliser.

I expect Sunday’s game to equally be as exciting as United attempt to end their losing run against the deposed European champions.

Both sides have already met four times this season with the Blues getting the better of the champions in the cups – League and FA – with United lifting all three league points at the Bridge in a 3-2 victory.

Although the Blues have been disappointing over the course of the league season, they have been quite imperious when it comes to the knock out competitions, and United fans will recall how they played the Red Devils of the park in coming from behind to draw 2-2 in the first FA Cup meeting before finishing the job in the second leg 1-0.

However, with a successful midweek Europa Cup outing one might not see the Blues show as much intensity this time around but that does not mean they will be coming to Old Trafford to roll over for United and the Red Devils must be at their best if they are not to suffer a sucker punch.

While my heart craves for a home win, my mind is telling me a draw – and so for once let me go with my mind!
