Yohan Cabaye peels away after putting Newcastle ahead

An own goal from Demba Ba rescued a draw for Sunderland against 10-man Newcastle in the Tyne-Wear derby.

Newcastle went ahead when Ba's strike was blocked by keeper Simon Mignolet only for Yohan Cabaye to latch on to the loose ball and drive in a shot, reports the BBC.

The Magpies had Cheick Tiote red-carded for a tackle on Steven Fletcher but the home side struggled to capitalise.

Sunderland eventually equalised when John O'Shea's header from a free-kick came off Ba and into the Magpies net.
