Enyimba Football Club of Aba is ready to win both the Federation Cup and the Premier League title this football season.

According to the General Manager of the club, Prince Okey Nwabike, the team is prepared to take on any team in the Federation Cup without underrating any of them.

The General Manager who was speaking with sportswriters in an interview at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium (ATBS), Bauchi Wednesday said the team will not underrate any team, saying that there is no minor in such competition and they will face all teams with seriousness.

He explained that despite the fact that there are no underdogs in the competition it would amount to an insult for Enyimba to record an upset from any minor squad at the centre

Prince Okey applauded the Bauchi State Football Association for providing all the necessary security arrangements towards ensuring successful competition in the centre, saying that since their arrival they did not encounter any security challenge as they go about their normal business without any fear.

He however called on the NFF and the NPL to improve on the security aspect in all the centres across the country in both the Federation Cup and the Nigeria Premier League competitions considering the spate of violence recorded in some match venues.

Commenting on the officiating aspect of the Nigeria Premier League, the Enyimba boss stated that referees are human beings and they should be regarded as such. He said Referees are bound to make mistakes and Nigerians should not always crucify them for simple mistakes.

“I’m in support of building our national teams with local players and experience ones to gain more that will make our league more attractive as the players will always offer their best when it comes to playing for the national teams. The coaches can scout for players within the Premier League as we have abundant players in the country,” he concluded
