Alhaji Abubakar Baraje
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, the Speaker of Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulrasaq Atunwa, Hon. Ali Ahmad, and the erstwhile acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Baraje, have enjoined Nigerians, especially during the Eid-el-Kabir, to remain eschew violence and remain peaceful at all times.
The Emir, who spoke with journalists in his palace yesterday in Ilorin, said: “There can’t be growth and development in an atmosphere of violence and acrimony.”
Gambari spoke while receiving a House of Representatives member representing Ilorin East/South federal constituency, Dr. Ali Ahmad, who paid him a sympathy visit on the recent fire incident which gutted the reception section of the palace.
In his Sallah message, Atunwa urged Nigerians to be steadfast, tolerant, perseverance, love one another and be each other brother’s keeper as exemplified by prophet Ibrahim.
Atunwa in a statement described Prophet Ibrahim as father of faith who wanted to sacrifice his only son to Allah.
Also, Baraje counselled Muslims on the need to imbibe the virtues of submissiveness to the will of God as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim in the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir.
