Setonji Keshoedo, Lagos State Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party

By Anayo Okolie

Lagos State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Setonji Keshoedo, has said the party is ready to confront the ruling party, Action Congress of Nigeria in the upcoming local government election.

Keshoedo, who noted this during an interview in Lagos, said the party has re-strategised on the areas of strength and is a better organized party with transparency and orderliness in governance. He noted that the party has higher chance of winning the local government elections because the purpose of creating Local Government Areas was not achieved in Lagos.

According to Keshoedo, the aim creating LG councils was to bring governance closer to the people, but in Lagos it was unfortunate that the people did not feel the presence and impact of the government.

“People of Lagos State did not feel the impact of the present administration.  Everywhere you go people are complaining of bad roads, which will give PDP a better chance in the coming local government election,” he said.

“This time around people of Lagos State have determine to make a change in their various LGAs, and will give PDP the chance as the best alternative party in Lagos State.
