Eminent Delta State indigenes in the political and corporate spectrum have extended their support to the state’s team to the forthcoming National Sports Festival holding in Lagos with a N10m financial backing.
They want Team Delta to go to the festival to consolidate her leading role in Nigeria’s sport sector.

Leading the pack of donors to Team Delta are Andy Ayonmike of Waland Services Ltd, Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa and Group Chairman of Senforce Insurance Brokers, Dere Otubu.

The Delta State Sports Commission headed by Amaju Melvin Pinnick, said that it is not leaving room for any slip in its determination to continue championing and sustaining a healthy sports revolution in the state, and possibly in Nigeria.

The financial support at the weekend climaxed a plethora of goodwill messages to Team Delta to go to Lagos to perform creditably.

“More prominent Deltans and corporate bodies are enthusiastic and have express their willingness to continue to partner and complement the effort of the state government in sports,” observed the DSSC boss.

He confirmed that Delta State is going to the bi-annual festival with the largest contingent. A guided tour of her various training camps by members of the sports fraternity, mass media, private and public sector and eminent Deltans had taken place earlier.
