Egypt beat Ghana 5-4 on penalties to be crowned African Youth Champions in a nervy game on Saturday night after it finished 1-1 in regulation time.
The Young Pharoahs have now won their fourth U-20 African Championship title, one better than Ghana.
The North Africans went ahead after just four minutes from a penalty when Saleh Gomaa slotted. But it took just three minutes for Ghana to strike, after another penalty went the Satellites' way, reports supersport.com.
And Jeremiah Arkoful stepped up and scored.
On the 30th minute, Ghana hit the crossbar with a sublime freekick, starting a run of breathless end to end football.
Ghana gave, and Egypt took; Egypt gave and Ghana took. Meanwhile, the fans in the Stadium lapped it up and the atmosphere was good.
Just before halftime, it took only goalkeeper Antwi's heroics to deny Kahraba, and then Bassam. The first half finished 1-1, with teh Satellites the more organised.
