Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun interrogation of some Plateau State officials with a view of nabbing ghost workers syndicate in the state.
The state commissioner of information, Mr. Abraham Yiljap, who disclosed this on Friday in his office while speaking with newsmen in his office, said the commission has been taken to officials suspected to be accomplices in the ghost worker syndrome in the state.
He said the EFCC has wade into the matter, adding that government’s position is that it would reposition the state civil service as an engine room for government for effective performance in the state. He added that the state government would spend over N800 Naira in building a civil service institution to train civil servants to be more productive and efficient. Yiljab also condemned the recent attack on Du Village by unknown gunmen in which two persons were killed. He said government is working hard with security operatives to ensure that lasting peace returns to the area.
