Nigeria Premier League coaches have applauded Nigeria’s coach, Stephen Keshi and his technical crew for keeping faith in NPL players ahead of the 2013 Nations Cup.

Nigeria’s 23-man team include six players from the domestic league and considering that domestic players are placed under embargo by recent coaches of the Super Eagles, the latest development is causing celebration among Nigeria’s coaches and players, reports futaa.com.

“I want to believe this is a new beginning for players that are in the Nigerian League. Keshi has shown that one doesn’t have to play outside the country before his talent will be noticed and this is not only encouraging to the players but the coaches as well,” 3SC coach Akeem Busari told futaa.com.

Enugu Rangers goalkeeper Akor Itodo shared the same view with the 3SC coach declaring that NPL players are now motivated to earn a call into the Super Eagles not minding the presence of their foreign-based colleagues
