Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has said he does not plan to call up a replacement for injured midfielder Gabriel Reuben. Reuben will miss the Eagles busy month of June schedule due to a groin injury he suffered last week.

“I will not be calling in any replacement for Reuben,” Keshi informed MTNFootball.com

“With his injury we have 29 players from where I will choose the final 23 for the Confederations Cup.”

Defensive midfielder Reuben has been dogged by a long-term injury and then illness, which made sure he did not kick a ball at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Keshi has already replaced injured striker Emmanuel Emenike with Werder Bremen striker Joseph Akpala.

Nigeria take on Mexico on May 31 in a friendly in Houston, Texas.

They then battle Kenya and Namibia in 2014 World Cup qualifiers on June 5 and 12 respectively, before they depart for the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil.
